APA7 Trainer is a gamified learning app that helps students and researchers master APA 7 format citation styling through flashcards, quizzes, speed challenges, and more.

Progress is saved locally on your device. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, your progress will have reset. Changing devices will also start fresh. We recommend completing the daily challenge each day to maintain your streak.

You earn XP for every correct answer across all modes. There are 50 levels from Novice to APA Legend. After reaching level 50 you enter Prestige (★I, ★II, …) and the cycle repeats with harder questions weighted more heavily.

Enter the details of a source (journal article, book, website, etc.) and the app formats a correctly structured APA 7 reference entry. You can also upload a photo of a source to use as a reference while filling in the fields.

Yes — all content and your progress are stored on your device. No internet connection is needed after the initial download.

Badges are awarded automatically when you hit milestones — things like answer streaks, speed challenge scores, accuracy over 50 questions, completing all modules, and reaching certain levels. Check the Progress screen to see which badges you've earned and what's still locked.
